Walk: Dog Walk Tracker - Last updated October 22, 2026
Walk is made by Make Art Inc. ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the Walk app handles and what it does not. The short version: Walk is built to keep your life on your phone. Your walks, routes, photos, and dog profiles are stored on your iPhone. We do not run accounts, we do not sell data, and we do not track you for advertising.
Information stored on your device
The following stays on your iPhone, under your control, and is never sent to us:
- Walks and routes. GPS routes, distance, time, and walk history recorded while you use the app.
- Dog profiles. Names, photos, breeds, and details you enter for your dogs.
- Photos and clips. Photos and short clips you take or attach during walks, and walk cards you create.
- Home zones. The places you set as home zones, used on-device to notice when you leave and return.
Deleting the app deletes this data from your device. If you use iCloud device backups, your backup is handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy.
Permissions the app asks for, and why
- Location (including background). To record walk routes with your phone in your pocket, and to power home zones. Location data is used on your device and is not transmitted to us.
- Photos. To add a photo of your dog, find photos you took during a walk, and save walk cards to your library.
- Camera and microphone. To take photos and short clips during walks. Clips work without microphone access, silently.
- Motion. To tell a walk from a drive when a walk starts on its own.
- Notifications. For home zone and walk reminders you choose to receive.
Anonymous usage analytics
Walk uses TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused analytics service, to receive anonymous usage signals such as "a walk was completed" or "the subscription screen was viewed." These signals:
- are not linked to your name, your Apple ID, or any account, because Walk has no accounts;
- never include your location, routes, photos, dog details, or the contents of your walks;
- are never used for advertising, and are never sold or shared with data brokers.
We use these counts only to understand which features get used and to fix problems. Apple may also provide us with anonymous, aggregated App Store attribution information (for example, which ad campaign led to a download) through Apple's AdServices framework. That information does not identify you to us.
Purchases and subscriptions
Walk+ subscriptions are sold and processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your payment details. Apple tells the app whether a subscription is active so it can unlock Walk+ features. Managing or cancelling a subscription happens in your App Store account settings.
What we do not do
- We do not collect your name, email address, or contact list in the app.
- We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information.
- We do not show ads, and we do not use third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.
- We do not receive your location or your walk history on any server. Walk has no server that stores user data.
Children
Walk is not directed at children under 13, and the app does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date at the top. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
